  When The SHTF.

  we have several non-jdub friends who are busy stockpiling foods and goods for the impending societal collapse.

  some are happy enough to be called preppers, others are not, but say that looking at the deteriorating condition of the world that it's only a matter of time before the shtf and they want to be prepared to protect themselves and their families when it happens.. contrast that to the jdubs who are actively telling people that the end of the world is coming, but aren't preparing in a practical way because they have been brainwashed by a "jehovah has always protected his servants" mindset from the gb at hq (who laughingly have no reason to be concerned because they're hoping for a quick getaway up to heaven when the jw 'end of the world' comes!).

  the most the average jdub has is a go-bag rucksack in case they have to quickly leave their house in the event of a natural disaster like a flood or a wildfire.. isn't it better to be safe than sorry?

  The jw go bag is to get you to a refugees center only. Then let whomever take care of you. It depends where you live if it will be flood, wind, earthquake, fire. Add in kids away at school, dad at work, traffic gridlocked, cell phones out. Know your neighbors even if not witnesses. Bosnia showed no single man survived, took cooperation and taking lives. The preppers never consider the life expectancy of a grunt soldier. 30 minutes. So that 9 with 5 mags, and your thousand 5.56 are overthought. As for hunting, rats, mice, grasshoppers, worms, and snares, no noise.

  In The big deals an old man and woman will not last long anyway. Sayonara. I will have to disable any gun I can not take.

  i have run across another jw death where the final wishes are for no service.

  Just had another yesterday in the local hall. No services, estranged family. Died in care home, few if any visitors. Not sure but he may have died alone, complete with dementia which comes and goes, maybe nobody holding his hand. Im guilty there too

  What bugs me is the better off comments. True no pain or worries and ( big if) there is a resurrection hope. I was told the same for my dog. Damnit! Not better off, just NOT.

  Another losing an adult child, not a witness. So no attending the funeral; why did I ask?

  Blues. I meant funeral in the general sense of remembrance. I cant remember the last time the body was present or displayed.

  Nowwhat. The adjustment was barely an improvement. I really hated the: "so and so wanted me to tell you---". No he didn't. The last memorial at the hall actually had applause like a sunday talk. Tacky! The zoom messes were even worse.

  A wake ( surely pagan), or celebration of life is better.

  As I said, some people seem to be pimo and their last wishes reflect it. I am because of family, especially the old ones who need the delusion intact. If I am donated, stuffed, frozen; I wont b e there to witness it.

  Are these pimo people? Or disappointed in the false promises?

  Years ago an elderly man converted, his family stated they would not attend a memorial so the elders refused to do any service because there was no one to witness to. That really hurt his friends at the hall.

  I fully intend to not have a talk. Cheese, wine, and a few memories. As stated here before, JW funerals are the worst. Be it noted that a family does not get closure without some sort of remembrance.

  i just had an incredible phone conversation with a long-time jw who has strong "q-anon" "sovereign citizen" beliefs.

  the wife(first gen) says she is not surprised.

  I'm an American and I dont know what it means.

  Surveysare worded to get desired results. Seldom is there a place to explain shades of belief; you get A, B, C with no A1\2, or a compound question.

  I do think there are too many background shadow people running things and too many beurocrats.
